A cultural, social, service, and commercial association, The Italian Businessman’s Club meets monthly for dinner and participates in formal and informal events throughout the year.
While we are serious about supporting Italian culture and tradition, we have fun too. I.B.C. endows a scholarship each year at Portland State University, raises funds for the Italian School, and helps new residents become comfortable in the US.
We also play bocce ball, celebrate Spring and Fall at our favorite local winery, and throw a great Christmas party. We often join with other Italian clubs in the area for such events as the very popular Festa Italiana. Networking is constant.
Members are Italian, Italian-American or related to Italians. You can talk to any of us about joining or fill out the form on this site.
Since its 1951 inception, I.B.C. has taken a leading role on behalf of many worthwhile causes, both here and abroad. Active supporters of the Portland Symphony and Opera Association, the club was among the first donors of OMSI and the Washington Park Zoo’s “Elephant Fund.” In 1957 the club donated $10,000 to Boys Town of Italy, and for more than 30 years it donated funds to the Christie Foundation, the Portland Police’s Sunshine Division, and other local charities.
We meet the first Tuesday of every month, for dinner, at 6.30 PM. Check back here for details.
